About the Role
The Life Operations and Administration Team's objectives include the registration of cotract details in our system, the booking and settling of accounts received from our clients, the quality assurance of the data we receive fro clients through the bordereaux, as well as the correct mapping and loading of all seriatim risk data received. All information registered is used downstream by other functions for various financial and actuarial studies and reporting.
Keys Skills :
Lead and manage a Europe-based team to ensure the accurate and timeley execution of various assigned tasks in the contract administration, technical accounting, and risk data areas
Work with the Global Operations and Admin team and IT to enhance our data governance capabilities, support the build out of data solutions, evaluation of risks, and strengthening of our key controls
Be the owner of EMELA risk data supporting reserving, reportnig, and exprience analysis
Ensure the proper execution of technical account bookings and data quality verification in accordance with internal processes and procedures (including Sarbanes Oxley controls); ensure that business is recorded according to appropriate accounting practices
Ensure that the registration / updating of treaties in our system complies with contractual conditions
Produce regular reporting and provide feedback to Management on backlog and issues tracking, aged balances, processing timelines, and work with different stakeholders to escalate and resolve issues on a timely basis
Ensure that all client-related administration and accounting issues are addressed quickly and effectively
Provide guidance to the team on the handling and administration of complex treaties
Participate in the quarterly closing process with the Finance and Actuarial teams
Ensure that the riskdata received from our clients is complete, accurate, consistent, and provided within the contractual deadlines
Ensure that the risk data received from our clients is correctly mapped, reviewed and uploaded into our various risk data platforms
Participate in upcoming projects to further enhance and optimize our administration, accounting and risk data processes, including the selection, design, and implementation of L&H's future administration and data platform(s)
Requirements
University degree
Minimum 5 years of experience in the financial services industry, re/insurance experience is a plus
Fluency in English (verbal and written) is essential, knowledge of French is a plus
Excellent organizational skills and some previous experence in managing a team
Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate with clients, peers and management
Ability to propose solutions and view issues and tasks in a bigger global context while also understanding the details if necessary
Ability to work in a diverse, worldwide organization with teams from multiple locations
Ability to counsel and develop team members
