About the Role
As part of our global expansion plan that we commenced in 2019 we have realigned our internal pricing functions and developed a global Worldwide Pricing & Analytics team. Due to these developments we now have a position for a Casualty Pricing Actuary who is responsible for pricing North American business.
Within this role, you will become knowledgeable and experienced within actuarial pricing. This is an ideal role for someone who is looking to take the next step in their career in the actuarial pricing function. Your core responsibility will be as a Business Partner for the underwriters by providing profitability analysis of markets, segments, and/or individual transactions. You will have the ability to create excellent relationships with colleagues working with stakeholders to deliver on business targets.
Key Responsabilities :
Provide timely pricing and project work in support of team and departmental objectives.
Participate in account discussions with actuaries, underwriters, and other stakeholders.
Prioritize work to ensure delivery of a final product within the specified timeframes.
Understand insurance and reinsurance terminology including contract language found in reinsurance placement slips.
Utilize actuarial models and understand the underlying actuarial theory.
Participate on a variety of project teams (model development, annual parameter studies, ad hoc requests).
You have gained 2 to 4 years of pricing work experience in P&C insurance, reinsurance, or other relevant / related P&C field.
You hold a Bachelor's Degree and have at least 3 actuarial exams completed.
You have an interest and experience in programming (for example in R, C#, SQL).
You understand mathematical and statistical concepts in addition to transactional actuarial pricing theory.
You exhibit clear communication and good time management skills even under pressure; communicate clearly and succinctly whether in oral or written form; are an attentive and active listener.
You are able to identify where potential problems exist and apply basic critical thinking skills to develop solutions.
You demonstrate intellectual curiosity to expand knowledge of actuarial and (re)insurance topics.
You have the ability to navigate existing systems and processes to accomplish stated business objectives effectively and efficiently.
