About the Role
Primary deliverable: Establish product partnerships with our clients in APAC. Help in the identification and assessment of market gaps and needs. Own the new product origination initiative and collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide expert product views, ideas and recommendations that will drive our growth efforts within the region.
Be creative & curious: Have a curious, analytical yet creative mind to be the owner of the product development ideation process. Have an ambition to find the next great product development which delivers value to customers.
Strong technical ability: Contributions are made with the appropriate risk awareness and with the knowledge of pricing materiality and other proposition pathway impacts, e.g., distribution, underwriting journey.
Market research: Conduct market research and evaluation of both primary market and competitors’ offerings to ensure we are well positioned to deliver new, sustainable and relevant ideas.
Internal Stakeholders: Be comfortable in liaising with and contributing to meetings with other subject matter experts. Be able to build rapport and influence with your colleagues.
External partnerships: Be able to assess external partnerships propositions (e.g. healthtech, insurtech) for their value within the reinsurance context.
Contribute to building our brand: Contribute to the thought leadership in life and health insurance propositions through active engagement in conferences, forums, as well as in client meetings.
Requirements

have +8 years Life (re)insurance experience with a proven track record of product development and understand the foundational requirements in a successful delivery / creation
are a qualified Actuary with a blend of pricing and product development expertise or a or strong Product Manager proven in their track record
have a strong product background, as you will be the product expert and have the technical competency to present your ideas with authority; it’s a distinct advantage you have Critical Illness experience
have a good level of expertise around distribution, underwriting and propositions generally with specific experience in South Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore which is an advantage
have high standards and genuinely care about the output that you produce
are a good communicator; used to communicate at a business level, both verbally and written, in English and Korean, and an additional language (used in Asia) is desirable
are curious, an active listener, bring energy and have a real desire to contribute to a high-performing team to help the business unit achieve great heights together
are resourceful in sourcing data, and to suggest different research approaches and product design methodologies.
